A Message from Borys Medicky
Dear Friends,
Thank you to everyone who made our May 16th Fundraiser Concert a sucess. Thanks to our audience, donors, volunteers and musicians, we can now look forward to next season. We plan to continue performing at The Registry Theatre in Kitchener, which has proven to be an ideal space. At this time I am happy to invite you to our fall concert.

In collaboration with the Royal Canadian Astronomical Society, we explore the human endeavour to understand the universe and our place in it. The extraordinary life and work of late-baroque astronomer/composer William Herschel is the catalyst of our journey navigating between historical music, documents and contemporary breathtaking imagery from the Hubble Space Telescope. Please visit our web site later in the summer for more information about this fall concert and an outline of the 2009-2010 season.

Nota Bene Period Orchestra: Borys Medicky, seated at harpsichord, surrounded by, clockwise from front left: Laura Jones, Sophie Drouin, Linda Melsted, Trevor Ewert, Marilyn Fung, Julie Baumgartel, Sheila Smyth, Valerie Sylvester, Leila Kelleher Franck, and Felix Deak (Catherine Freitag-Hewson, not in photo). The orchestra specializes in historically informed performances of 16th - 18th century music. Playing on historically accurate instruments, these professional musicians provide a fresh sound coming as close as possible to recreating what Bach, Handel, and other composers from the early Baroque to the early classical period intended us to hear.
